Implementation: The free flange joints with the sleeve is an assembly component and is intended for tightening with screws compound of PE or PP pipeline to other pipelines or device under pressure. It is used exclusively in conjunction with the sleeve which connects to the pipe that is part of the pipeline in a butt (thermal) way.
A short or long sleeve of PE or PP, which is made according to standard DIN 16963 – Teil 4, is used for conjunction, whereas a flange is made according to standard ISO 9624, with measures for a circuit system butt (thermal) conjunction.
Basic characteristics: Dimensions of loose flanges are in accordance with ISO 9624 for appropriate pressure PN and for the outer diameter of the PE and PP sleeves ie. pipe (see table).
The flange is envisaged for conjunction the with sleeve (adapter) for external pipe with a nominal diameter DN 16 mm to 1000 mm for nominal pressure up to 16 bar (PN 16).
According to the standard ISO 9624, all the given measures are envisaged for sleeves for butt (thermal) conjunction to systems made of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP).
Gasket made of soft material according to the recommendations of the sleevs’ manufacturer should be used for sealing of the compound.
Low-strength metric bolts and nuts appropriate, according to the recommendations of the sleevs’ manufacturer should be used for tightening of the compound.
Working conditions: In the basic version, the free flange is made of steel S235JR (1.0038) with the measures according to the standard ISO 9624 for butt sleeve for connection to the pipe. All rates are given in the table on the next page.
All flange surfaces are protected by plastic coating epoxy powder with a final layer thickness of min. 250 micrometers.
